Brighton Bike Tag

What time is meet up usually? I'm in town with a bike on Wednesdays

Well it used to be 6.30 to leave at 7, but it’s slipped about half an hour now so if I show up at 6.50 I’m usually the first there. Generally a 30km ride, and in theory if it’s wet we do quiet roads instead of bridleways but that’s never actually happened

That should work for me. I'll open negotiations at home and try to make a couple whilst we've still got the light evenings 🤞

The style of the houses on the left; the narrow one-way street going up the hill; the street coming in on the left; the curvature at the bottom of the street; the reflected tower block over the road and slightly behind... it can only be one place.

It could just be any little street really??

I didn't realize about the Charles Dickens connection to Brighton until I worked out where your tag was and viewed it on Google Maps. You learn something every day.

I didn't even notice the plaque so I've just learnt something as well

In baffled I assumed valley gardens area but looped round and through from the steine to north end of the level and couldn't find it. Lots of areas fenced off with lorries everywhere setting up for pride though.

Correct area. And I passed by yesterday and it was still viewable and accessible.... but lorries and disgorged stuff were encroaching, and it might be swamped / hidden now. I'll check soon, and do a new tag if necessary. Or maybe I'll just do a new tag and we'll come back to this one later.

I might have a look on foot later if I get time. It was very busy and I was trying to look where I was going at the same time

I’ve been wanting to get close to this for years and today it all worked out nicely with a fitting sentiment for the day.

Whoever goes for this tag, don’t get this close. Obvious reasons aside, my legs are still tingling from the thickets of thistles, brambles, and nettles.
