• gonna do the NLD 6 route with some Saturday 23rd, timings/meeting point TBD, all welcome, will update it here when that’s decided

  • WLTM 4 NLD 6

  • Yeah I believe that’s the one I’ve got too, meeting at 8:30am at 13th floor coffee, N16 9ES - what was/is the official start of the route when it was tan a few months back

  • Triffic! Thanks. See you there : )

  • NLD6 was a mellow day in perfect weather.
    GET WELL SOON @ojwithbits : )

  • Glad it was good. I’m feeling better, a colleague had covid last week so didn’t want to risk it!

  • Friday: Doing Brighton to vaguely-London-ish via Lewes, Polegate, Heathfield yadda yadda Eridge, then west to Forest Row to join the reverse Stayer route (weather and light depending).

  • Well. In a shitty week, I had the best weather I could have hoped for, and this was a nice one to do, but can report that some bits of NCN21 (off Marklye Lane) are very boggy, so that and the woodland connector between Five Ashes Road and Sheriff’s Lane should be avoided (unless you’re headed down it on something more than a cx tyre).

  • short notice and as yet unplanned, but would anyone fancy joining a summer solstice inspired 100 mile ride on Saturday? Starting and quite hopefully finishing in London?

  • Arrgh. Great idea! And would except I’m doing a flat-as* coastal on Friday (sort of Margate to Hastings-ish). Pace is noodle and my co-rider’s *knee is likely to cut it all short anyway.
    Have a good one!

  • Later… co-rider has a nasty bout of covid and so I will be doing the Kent coast on my own, or reverse it and faff my way back to London.

  • Would love to but I'm away :(

  • Alas, you will both be missed but I hope you have good times!

A few of us are going to cycle out to the town of Brandon in Suffolk for a silly joke

  • Cheers! I hope your ride goes well : )
My route from Margate round to Rye was fun and mellow, but the Komoot route had confidently put me past Dungeness Power Station on paths that were either behind the electric fence or buried under a metre of loose shingle. Routed back to NCN2 which was up on blocks too. Happy to have done so much outside tho. This year has been really slack : /

  • hi fam, a bit short notice but feeling like this could be worth redoing. thinking tomorrow as the weather looks solid. anyone wanna join?

  • I was away but would have joined. Keen to organise another ride out this way if anyone wants.

  • ended up doing it solo, there and back from dorking. really nice fast and flowy paths, little roots or rocks and not a single sighting of SFAB. left a little late but managed to finish soon after sunset. highly enjoyable in the dusk, maybe even in the dark? my only critique would be the longish road section in the middle, but not sure how easily it could've been avoided. bizarre feeling riding through the band stand in godalming by hundreds of pensioners sat down waiting for the act to start.

keen for any similar routes or terrain in the area if there are further efforts. there was an algae warning at the pond, but the families seemed to not mind as the kids were splashing away freely.
