With everyone celebrating the Turkish pistol shooter and how he doesn’t need all the fancy kit to win silver at the Olympics, what if fancy kit is what makes the difference between silver and gold? Marginal gains and all that jazz.

I know this is the memes thread but apparently with some pistol shooters they’ll run daily marathons so they slow their heart been down, and shoot between the beat. Mental

Why are there no videos online? Is it a rights thing? Or is it because they're not accepted by memegenerator?

Having just watched a bit of the 50m rifle, I was intrigued by their suits. According to one Reddit thread, the suit would increase the average shooters score by 1 (out of 10). Not an insignificant improvement!

The grip for his pistol is the main thing. High standard shooters have them made to order. He is wearing tiny yellow earplugs. They will be custom made, for his ears. I forget whether electronic noise cancelling is allowed now - probably not. Almost certainly not his normal glasses. And he'll be wearing special shoes for pistol shooting. The pellets will have been batch tested for his gun, and he will have further gone through them with a gauge to get the most consistent sizing.

Suits at 3 position rifle are, unfortunately, one of the major advantages, and teams are always trying to find ways around the rules, and the rules are constantly changing. A decent suit often costs more than the rifle and is a significant barrier to taking up the sport. In Europe there are plenty of second-hand suits floating around, but in the UK not so. 50m prone rifle is not an olympic sport - and you get less help from the suit, so at international meetings it's still possible to see people shooting in the same jacket they've worn for 20 years.

Suits
At a high level what's the advantage of these Mondrian x Harlequin suits?
Other than meaning you don't need a second outfit for your Tekkno set in the evening. -

Sorry for GQ. They are heavy and stiff, and stop you wobbling so much.

Hand in pocket, wearing a t-shirt also seems to work.

My user name evolved from a joke in my head about Japanese clothing brand W-Taps which is a bastardisation of the Japanese phonetic pronunciation "dubbu tap" for double tap which I them turned into adoubletap as a plumbing based pun, then shortened to dubtap because.
