Having just watched a bit of the 50m rifle, I was intrigued by their suits. According to one Reddit thread, the suit would increase the average shooters score by 1 (out of 10). Not an insignificant improvement!

The grip for his pistol is the main thing. High standard shooters have them made to order. He is wearing tiny yellow earplugs. They will be custom made, for his ears. I forget whether electronic noise cancelling is allowed now - probably not. Almost certainly not his normal glasses. And he'll be wearing special shoes for pistol shooting. The pellets will have been batch tested for his gun, and he will have further gone through them with a gauge to get the most consistent sizing.

With everyone celebrating the Turkish pistol shooter and how he doesn’t need all the fancy kit to win silver at the Olympics, what if fancy kit is what makes the difference between silver and gold? Marginal gains and all that jazz.
