Not sure where to ask this but as the fans I got were @Velocio advice I think in this thread. What BIG powerful floor fans do peeps recommend? Im having an issue that inside temps are super high (29/30 yesterday) from a factors I can't change. So thought I could simply push air through. Short of it, would a pair of big floor fans be good and what do ppl. Use? Like those uses with indoor cycling?

I mean... I've got posh fans that I use all year round to ensure there's fresh air and ensure that there's no CO2 buildup that makes me sleepy from the little room with little airflow, so I purchased Duux Whisper fans as they're quiet and efficient, and I can control them over WiFi, etc.
But if your criteria is "just push huge volumes of air" then you should look at what builders use to dry out plaster walls, and what home gyms use to cool people down... just these floor fans that are fairly large and move a lot of air very fast.

An air mover: https://www.cleva-uk.com/products/vacmaster-air-mover
They do one with a remote for turbo training too -

Duux Whisper fans
these are what i bought on your recommendation. In fact, i replaced my Dyson's with them cause they are much more quieter and more powerful - Thank you for the recommendation:-)

These look excellent, and smaller than what I'd recommended at barely a change in price.
Also love that you can daisy chain them together.

Sounds like you need a Leonardo AW609. Highly adjustable and has a pair of fans out of the box.

Oooh, I could have a field just for that... except this is the working from home thread.

I use a meaco 1056 fan in the office and is good, very quite on eco mode and can shift a lot of air on the top mode
-
• #3486
They are impressive for the amount of air they shift Vs noise. We have three 1056P fans now dotted about the house

Just ordered one on this basis..

The Meaco 1056 is slightly more powerful than the Duux whisper. Slightly noisier but not much in it either way.
I favour the duux as it lets you adjust how far side to side it spins.

I’m thinking of getting this monstrosity to use as an office chair. https://www.amazon.co.uk/bigzzia-Ergonomic-Cushion-Reclining-Support/dp/B0C863CS3B/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.w258l3zOVb3Wv3vIIbL7OA8PoKKHc_naYmWc3A9DoB0na85qhnb0CVc3hdW5GMwDR1QQOt9x6nNQkvEV9JK_ESluE6-JHh_-LM0Sv6Rc9AetiPt0duzKvg5Ae0rgb80T-e6MxTFfubjsvuVw3KJDRvvYWu_6UwkePHufeiHvdxoCA24-OmeTiAGABIO20URTh534diDXd88bwzAcXXrOyg.fFzGyEHmLD3mGkNygAd2D3ET3-LRvW2yIL9HIWDslVM&dib_tag=se&keywords=gaming+chair&qid=1723182036&sr=8-13
Any reason to avoid it apart from crimes against aesthetics? Any other suggestions in this super cheap price category?

You might find a quality office refurb chair for around that price.
Maybe a Humanscale freedom task chair?
Flexispot have one at £99 that seems decent, and they have some track record of ergonomics and comfort.

What @kboy said - ergonomically, it's abysmal - it's all form and no function.
It seems to be designed to make you slouch - The sides will round your shoulders and push your chest forward where they want to be back and up, and you'll end up with all sorts of neck, shoulder, back & hip pain.

Thanks all. Sounds like I dodged a bullet. I know nothing about seat posture ergonomics and don’t really want to go down that internet rabbit hole for a few weeks. Solid advice for 2nd hand 🙏

Very pleased with my newest upgrade:
A Kensington K62330WW fingerprint reader; I was fedup with typing my long work password in all the time to authenticate. My work laptop is docked behind my screens at the so I cant easily reach its built in finger print reader.
The reader itself is all metal and works flawless every time (though I would recommend re-adding your fingers onces it's under the desk to get the angle right if you do this), and doesn't need any additional software on windows
I've plugged it into my the USB hub on one of my screens so I can also use it on my personal desktop PC too. Then I thought to look to see if anyone had modeled a mount for it, and low and behold they have
(kind thanks to @HatBeard for printing it)So now I just reach under the edge of the desk and tap my finger to authenticate/login etc - so much faster

nice try that's clearly a button to activate the trapdoor to the shark tank under your front doormat for when the neighbour from hell rings the doorbell.

I toyed with the idea of a finger print reader, like you laptop is tucked away. Went with a new Webcam so I can use Windows Hello. Game changer

Are there any fingerprint readers that don't cost a ridiculous amount though.
That is my favourite button on any device ever and I must use it 50+ times a day. I have it remapped using Logi options to screen snip. It’s so convenient!!!!
