Milestone of the day: installed the front brake - Trp lever, Magura MT4 caliper .
Works really well on the stand ; I haven't had time to test it on the road yet, but I'm confident.
Some will ask why. Because I can 😎
More seriously, I feel that the flatmount version of hylex calipers are a bit lacking. Not beautiful, not overly impressive in terms of braking power. Also : very small pads.
Magura on the other hand uses the same pads that on all their 2-pistons brakes. Much bigger pads, powerful and long-lasting. Since the bike is to be used in challenging conditions - steep, technical descents, gravel, etc. while loaded, I feel like it's the right choice.
(not sure about the fluoro ring though - will probably us a silver one or none at all)
The fluoro ring might be quite good?
All black silver guards, and a few small but fun popping accents, can imagine that to be fun. Something like red rails on saddle, blue bar plugs etc.
