  • I’m on holiday next week and removed some skin from my leg.
Slightly worried the baking Cornish sun will burn a bit.
Apart from wearing trousers anything I can do? Can you put factor50 on this?

    1. Keep clean
    2. Moisturise
    3. Long loose trousers
  • If you can find Tegaderm patches, they are great for healing grazes quickly

  • From professional and personal experience I can tell you that healing skin wounds exposed to the sun will scar darker. What that means is that if you don’t cover that scratch really well, like with more than a trouser leg, you’re likely to end up with a pronounced red/purple mark.

If it were me and I were set on not missing the trip, I’d maximise healing this week with appropriate ointment and care (like avoiding direct sun), and in Dorset I’d cover it with a huge plaster under UVP trousers.

  • Oooft! How did you manage that?
