  • We have two Brompton and one this one the spokes catch the gear chain when the bike is folded. I cannot work out why, any ideas anyone??

  • Are there any significant differences in the P line and A line triangle and fork geo? Im thinking of saving my elbow tendons by replacing steel with Ti, but it’s not clear what the big differences are between both designs (other than a redesigned suspension block and EZ wheel mounting point on the P line).

  • Geo are the same ride comfort is nicer cos it's Ti.

    Sorry don't know what's exactly your elbow issue is, would a switch of bars setup or even grips help?

  • Lifting and carrying the bike up stairs multiple times a day aggravates tendon and joint issues in my elbow and fingers. Even steering a fully packed shopping mode Brompton tends to tire my joints out, I think particularly because the bike is unbalanced and I’m having to exert constant force to keep it stable as well as propel it. I have to improve my flexibility on and off the bike as well.

    I’ve been commuting for weeks nearly every day on multiple forms of transport with many a staircase between destinations, and I’m feeling the additional strain. Dropping >1kg off the bike, which I have the parts to do minus fork and triangle, would make a big difference I think.

  • My front brake caliper left hand side when looking at it from the front is rubbing on the wheel, the right is free. Any tips for quickly readjusting?

    I have the Brompton toolkit with me and never faced this before so not totally clued up on how to adjust the caliper or cable to bring it back off the rim.

    Any help great fully received as it'll mean I'm wearing it too fast and putting in waaaay more effort than I should have to.

  • Get a wheel extender for shopping (if you have a rack you can even get 2 for extra stability).

    I find stairs are much easier if you just lift the bike and hook the saddle over your shoulder. You can hold the fold retention clip as you lift so the rear triangle folds, if it's a crowded station or whatever.

  • Mine is but Tim's isn't.

    Tiniest wheelbase ever.

  • Can confirm, it keeps the front brake cable out of the wheel on mudguardless Bromptons.

    And yes, on all forks to cut down on having many different (but similar) variants of the same thing

    I don't have the actual numbers in weight difference between standard rear frame and forks vs titanium maybe +sbbohr might know?
