  • A question: anyone around Camberwell tomorrow to help me move a bookcase down some stairs? I found someone who really wants it: my neighbour Jean! She’s very sweet, she’ll be very grateful and probably tell you how Michael Caine’s mum lived opposite her when she was growing up and Michael always had half a crown to give her when he’d pop over in the days before he made it big.

  • Cheers.

It was my everyday do everything workhorse. A worked on Trek FX 3. Surly rack, conti tyres, Brooks saddle. Only had it 3 years. I had just recently grown to love it after an impulse buy/upgrade 😂
Problem is, I'm meant to be going away in 10 days to do the Caledonian Way, so need something pronto.

Recommendations for something similar and or a reputable online dealer?

  • That's really kind thanks. But I've pulled the trigger on one and have some little ones.

So should be cover. But really appreciate it.

  • A quick cool/tepid shower or bath (evening swim if available) before bed and lightly towel off so the fan can do it's cooling

  • I'll do it, ping me!

  • I’m on holiday next week and removed some skin from my leg.
Slightly worried the baking Cornish sun will burn a bit.
Apart from wearing trousers anything I can do? Can you put factor50 on this?

  • Fashion a leg parasol.

    1. Keep clean
    2. Moisturise
    3. Long loose trousers
  • If you can find Tegaderm patches, they are great for healing grazes quickly

  • I have a jpeg that needs an edit (a hair from the film scan that needs removing). Where can I send it to and pay to get one very small bit of photoshopping done?

  • Snappy Snaps?

  • It would take someone On Here about five seconds. Not me unfortunately because I’m locked out of my adobe account

  • PM me, I'll do it if you'd like?

  • Amazing, thank you 🙏🏼

  • A long time ago Volvo did an ad campaign, the basis of which was that they’d hidden a Volvo somewhere on earth. The idea being if you found it you kept it.

    Did anyone find it?

  • From professional and personal experience I can tell you that healing skin wounds exposed to the sun will scar darker. What that means is that if you don’t cover that scratch really well, like with more than a trouser leg, you’re likely to end up with a pronounced red/purple mark.

If it were me and I were set on not missing the trip, I’d maximise healing this week with appropriate ointment and care (like avoiding direct sun), and in Dorset I’d cover it with a huge plaster under UVP trousers.

  • Oooft! How did you manage that?

  • MAAP Summercross

  • Thank you. What’s an appropriate ointment?

  • Not medical advice, caveat emptor, etc etc. Aloe Vera is popular and well established for helping heal skin lesions. There’s several hydrogels on the market from reputable pharmacies that have evidence of promoting healing as well. Keeping the wound ‘dry’ but not ‘dried out’ is the trick. Take care not to peel the humectified scab off, too, which is easy to do by accident.

  • Oofff. Where did you come off to cause that?

I'd whack a hydrocolloid dressing on it, as they are great at accelerating healing for road rash.

  • The section that followed the footpath around the top of the track. I slid along the tarmac footpath.

  • I do love a good scab.

  • Fucked it mate.
