A question: anyone around Camberwell tomorrow to help me move a bookcase down some stairs? I found someone who really wants it: my neighbour Jean! She’s very sweet, she’ll be very grateful and probably tell you how Michael Caine’s mum lived opposite her when she was growing up and Michael always had half a crown to give her when he’d pop over in the days before he made it big.
