  • A friend dropped her bank card the other day and cunts were using it immediately for contactless stuff.

I don't use NFC on my phone so that wouldn't work. My phone and banking apps have fingerprint access requirements so they're not much use. In the unlikely event it was grabbed while unlocked I could use my partner's/mate's/cops/random's phone to log out of everything and/or adjust 2FA so they lose access to email.

I dunno, I'm still not seeing enough risk to make accessing my gmail harder on a daily basis.

If everyone didn't have stupid big phones they wouldn't feel the need to take them out of pockets and leave on tables in pubs and shit.

  • they wouldn't feel the need to take them out of pockets

But what's the point of having a smartphone unless you're constantly on it?

  • Phones seem to get snatched on a daily basis outside my office.

It's not a huge risk but I don't check my email that often that a fingerprint would be a huge inconvenience. Given that other mail apps offer it I'm surprised that gmail doesn't.
