  • I bet they charge a fortune for it!

  • Looks like some retailers have put it up around £170 for pre-orders.

  • Cheaper than I thought, tbh, but it’s still a very basic car for that price.

  • Tru say.

I got my 4wd 2nd gen Fire dragon for under a ton. Even with upgrades. (2nd hand mind) 😁

  • Drift worthy?

  • Possibly. Need to thrash it round the kitchen and see how it handles.

  • Never seen this before

  • What is this then? One of the Saloon classes?
I used to race Mardave Mini Stocks when I was a teenager, but the current ones look unrecognisable compared to the ones we raced. Suspension and seemingly several different variants from Mardave. I still have a massive soft spot for that bodyshell though.

  • This is a Kamtec Hotrod (or Hot Hatch?). Fun to drive - very basic chassis.

  • I was obsessed with these mini 4wd as a child.

That is what got me into Tamiya.

I never raced on these tracks mind.

    Obvs big in Japan.

  • I put together a quick and dirty Kamtec Bowler Landover body for the CC02 chassis this weekend. I'm quite pleased with how it's come out.
My nephew will be visiting for a few days, so I wanted a bodyshell that could be knocked about a bit with no real consequences.

  • Optimus Prime vibes.

    Love it.

  • Anyone know the story behind what happened to the original Mardave Ministock and why the Kamtec V12 replaced it? One day it seemed to be there and then it just disappeared. I assumed it was because Mardave decided it was no longer viable. Then the Kamtec V12 suddenly popped up and replaced it in all the 1/12 banger racing. Give or take a few little differences, the V12 is basically the same as a Ministock.

  • I'd love to know why there are now 7 different versions of the Ministock?!
As far as I can see there are race versions with a pan chassis, rear suspension and with a tough front bumper for stock car racing, but there's no explanation anywhere on the website what all the different versions are!

There's a guy called Bren who races minis and I'm really enjoying his very simple channel on Youtube.

  • Are there? I thought Mardave were long gone but I found they have a website earlier when I posted. I didn’t see (find?) any Ministock kits on there though.

  • Had a quick look and there is a regular meet not far from me, tempting!!

  • Nice racing there, Howard.

  • A few more shots of the Bowler on the CC02 chassis. Because it's a 4 link suspension system, the wheelbase extends when the suspension compresses, so the wheel arches don't quite line up when the suspension is extended.

  • i know it's at the cheapo end of things, but does anyone have any experience of the wltoys brushless buggies?
i'm awaiting delivery of a 124016 for me and my teenage child to mess about with and have read that it might need some setting up before running it despite it being a rtr (greasing the difs etc)
40mph out of the box means it probably won't be long before it needs some tlc...

  • No experience, but almost all of these RTR models seem to have a rate adjustment on the throttle to allow you to set it to a slower setting until people get used to the speed.
