Let Ziggy out yesterday. He’s been around our garden a few times, but around 3pm yesterday he went behind the shed, where there’s a gap in the fence, and hasn’t been seen since. Starting to get a bit worried he’s lost 😭

I’ve just been sent a pic of my Brother in Law’s cat.
Should I call the RSPCA?

I realised some time ago, it's better to babysit them in their own home.

I totally agree and my partner assumes me there was a good reason why this couldn’t happen this time 😂

Your partner is very very wrong, as there is never a good reason. Cats prefer there own territory. Unless they are used to moving around.

Dizzy, my senior Maine Coon relaxing in the garden today. She’s 15 now and in the last six months she’s got noticeably older and more fragile and eccentric, bless her.

I was being ironic but surprisingly the cat settled after ten mins, the main reason he came here was so he could have company , his normal cat sitter was also abroad

Ah sorry, I still do cat annoying for friends. Lots of house cats prefer to be in there own environment with someone around. Less stress. But some cats love company and get stressed when alone.
But each cat is unique. -

No worries your totally correct about them staying in their own environment this cat however was so chilled after 10 mins he completely owned my flat obviously he thought the plants were better suited on the floor so he had more space on my cupboard

Comes in, fucks thing's up and has a what ya going to do about it cattitude.
His place now.
I'm worried about stressing cats as that's when the start pee and pooing outside of litter trays etc and separation anxiety is a thing. Then come the vet bills.

Absolute don!

Definitely does what he wants and that’s why I like cats luckily he still uses the litter tray and unlike any cat I ever shared a place with this one is so relaxed I’ll really miss him when he goes back

Our cat learns to wave. Unfortunately after some years of me waving at her, she waved at my wife and I missed it.
Honestly, I'm not overly surprised and I think she did it just to upset me - and it worked!

Got woken up at 1am by a couple feeding Waily Dreamies outside my house. Looked out the window and the woman was trying to pick him up (good luck with that!)
Went outside to talk to them, they were apparently concerned because he was out at night. They lock their own cat in after 9. In the summer Waily is pretty nocturnal and has a cat flap so he can come and go as he pleases. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac so this isn't a problem, it's not like there's coyotes about in Peckham. They acknowledged he looked well looked after, ok so why are you feeding him Dreamies? Also it's fucking 1am, go to bed.
Cheers I'll message him.
