Big day for the Honda. Took some tinkering but now it's running great. Probably the most fun I've had on a road bike.

Gotta be worth £500 if you have the space and time to rebuild it

I call bollocks ;)
I had a Yamaha 100, for a while. As it was cheaper to insure than a 125. Oh change the tyres as tyres back then were absolute shite compared to today.
I have 2 100 four strokes in Italy, often thought about bringing them over to enjoy but think they are more fun helmet less in italy

After badgering a work colleague for a surprisingly short amount of time he's bought a cheap NSR125. Not that he needs my help, but looking forward to getting it roadworthy before the summer is over. Always nice to see somebody excited about motorcycles when you've been doing it for years.

Amen to that. Sibling uses bike strictly for commuting, so for the past few weeks I’ve been dragging her out almost every weekend. She’s excited about it now as opposed to being modal. DAS in the pipeline.

@MrBaklava yeah boiii! Where did you head out to?

• #25908
Nice! Also makes you excited all over again. I will definitely be living out my 2 stroke dreams through him.

That’s some damned good dreams to experience. I swear sometimes simpler is better. We barely even reached the speed limit but it was a hoon. Gravel country lanes are fun

@MrBaklava how awesome.

Anyone fancy this CBR600? Quite seriously need it shifted now to make space and contribute toward a runaround cage.

I appreciated some motorcycles today at Blackbushe (every Wednesday). My R1150GS Shed and others. Too many to take pics of everything but a good turn out. I particularly liked the Rickman Metisse in primer grey but all of these tickled my fancy.

My bike got pinched today along with someone else's while parked outside work. It's not worth buying anything nice is it! You can't leave it anywhere....
-
• #25916
Fuck. That's well shit. Mine was knicked outside work maybe 10 years ago now. Awful feeling.
Mine was found about a week later, they'd just stolen things left in the top box. Fingers crossed you can get yours back.

Yeah maybe, a gang on mopeds apparently. Took my piece of junk and a lovely old Moto Guzzi. Helmet and gloves were in the top box too. It only cost me £800, not even sure if it's worth claiming on the insurance.

Damn, sorry to hear...

Reported the theft to the police, have a crime number. Insurance runs out today, so I'm not going to claim, with the massive excess and a cheap bike I'd rather have the NCB. Do I need to do anything else? Notify the DVLA? I guess the police will do that?
-
• #25920
You should notify the dvla yourself.

I think you are still obliged to report it to the insurance company, who may or may not stiff you next time . When my third party only kwaker was stolen i kept my no claims but was refused insurance when i went to buy a 250 yam scooter that was top of the most stolen list.

Pretty much this. You may as well claim because they are going to hike your premiums next time regardless.
Similar to my rear-ender last year. Even though I used MCAMS/Bond Turner to get my payout (not my insurer), the insurance I get now is more than double regardless of not being at fault.

Mine’s up 50% this year with no claims or changes.
-
• #25924
My renewal offer was down 50%!
-
• #25925
My renewal was up a lot, did a price comparison 23 days before renewal and was a tiny percentage up from the same company.
Do comparisons
Do it 23 days ahead of renewal
Not gonna, but was tempted…
