It's not just you, last time I got a puncture and stupidly didn't have repair stuff, on a main commuter path about 50 people rode passed before someone stopped, who gave me a tube. I got to repay the favour to somone else recently who's pump had broken.
I don't think it's just cycling, people just generally seem less likely to help people. More likely to film you struggling for tiktok likes.
My past experience was largely the same, but it's been many years since I've needed help, and the make-up of the peloton has changed. It was near Sevenoaks btw, maybe there's just a higher concentration of twats in the neighbourhood.
