Fencing is great, it's the second fastest sport after gun

Yeah, saw a bit and wasn’t that impressed. These so-called Olympians were having trouble nailing stuff I did on literally my first run in Warehouse on THPS1.

felt like I watched an hour of people fall off trying tricks that were too hard for them
That's the beauty of a best trick contest, and why they get multiple attempts- you gamble by doing something you might not be able to land. The 50-50 to kickflip out attempts were incredible, and a real shame they weren't landed. A little bit like a solo attack in biek races, probably won't win but maybe you will

Currently shouting at the tennis. C'mon Tim.

Yes Sir Andy and Dan

Tennis was epic

Tennis was madness and Dan Evans has form, coming back from 0-40 and three match points down in Davis Cup.
But you can’t write this script, unbelievable given how Daniel and Nishikori were playing.

Yeah that was really good. Felt a bit sorry for them losing that with six match points or whatever it was!

Watched some slalom canoe earlier, looks so difficult. Well done for our Bronze!

Adam Peaty looking like he loves the Italian national anthem and his silver, great stuff

I wonder if the Great British Gold Rush is over?
Perhaps this will be a more standard, sure stuff will be won but not the same amount in the same way?

Possible unpopular opinion
Pretty solid opinion surely.
Skateboarding is best watched in am edited video format with music so you don't have to listen to the awful noise*.
Still enjoying the highlights. Wish that big rail was a bit longer.
*obvs this track is so smooth it's fine.

It is but it’s also such a niche sport if you fancy having a go you could instantly be about top 20 in the uk! My son does it a bit and it is to quote their coach ‘a dying sport’ where few people race, fewer people train, the bottom of the participation pyramid is tiny but they can’t stop trying to force kids to race straight away!

But just think of the hard-on you’ll get when he wins an Olympic medal and the lugfuss logo turns (let’s say) gold for a week…

I saw his IG this arvo showed him in hospital but no idea what happened. I know French food is impossible to find but I'm not sure ingesting fencing is the answer. Yikes.

They're called stabilisers and are designed to minimise the impact of the release forces on the bow and hence arrow's flight as the arrow leaves the bow. The long one is also really handy to rest the bow on the ground in between shots.

Tennis was epic
Unless someone got stabbed or something mid-match, this statement is never true.
Wasn't Wombledon enough, ffs?

Grace Brown went to visit him, and he’s up on his feet so hopefully his injuries aren’t too severe.

Unfortunately he prefers bmx which is far more competitive so it’s unlikely! Slalom is an excuse to play about in a boat and swim in the river after coaching.

The canoe slalom was fun to watch. The extreme canoe slalom should be even better.

i feel there was a whiff of sinophobia (sp.?) about the commentary of the diving
Possible unpopular opinion by having watched the Street skateboarding earlier, I'm still not convinced it's a great spectator sport, felt like I watched an hour of people fall off trying tricks that were too hard for them vs other events where people do skills that they know they can more consistently pull off at thier limit, so feels less like luck when you see them land them
