There is a lot of downtime in most sport, one of the things about it being live and lots going on is that it's more obvious.
It's also quite interesting sometimes to see that side of it, emotions, reactions etc.
Not really had any problems with the stuff I've been enjoying, like the Rowing.
You could always just watch the 'today at the Olympics' if you just want the good stuff.

It seems rubbish coverage isn’t limited to yesterday’s TT. Watching the womens gymnastics and there’s something happening all of the time on the appeeatus so why do they spend 75% of the time with cameras showing the gymnasts standing by their bags?
