Silver bars, stem, seatpost, black tape. Keep it classy

Gold, to match the Raleigh decal. But not cloth. Something shiny. E.g. Supacaz https://www.cyclesuk.com/shop/accessories/sub/grips-tape/supacaz-bling-bar-tape-136152/option/

would usually go with the decal colour but that's a big fat nope I'm afraid
-
• #230
I think dark green cloth would work.

Dark green and burgundy are often paired. https://larisacostea.com/2015/01/burgundy-and-green/

Gold
Looks more like champagne. So if you use cloth with no luster, that's what, beige? Pale tan?

think I might just get a few rolls on and play around with it (it'll end up being black won't it?)

As someone who loves colourful tape, I've accepted that black is best. Doesnt get dirty, always looks good.

think yr probs right tbf -

They're not great colours for cloth. But they'd be OK for Benotto. Benotto is still great. And it lasts for ever and doesn't pick up dirt.

Favourite bar tape was Fabric Hex, which is apparently now Cannondale Hex. But what’s the difference between Hex and Knurl? Apart from Hex being twice the price
-
• #239
I think the Knurl is a foam tape with adhesive like most bar tapes, rather than completely silicone like the Hex.
-
• #241
Thought that's the one he meant. Fair enough
-
• #242
Ah that’s good to know, thanks. I’ve ordered a couple of rolls of knurl

Hello bartape nerds,
My Kinesis x Jo Burt (black/pink) needs replacing. It's done well for 4 years. I am a fan of patterned (/fun...?) tape, though most patterned tape is absolutely hideous innit. Kinda tempted by this https://deanforestcyclesshop.co.uk/pdw-yo-wraps-donuts-137-p.asp but cotton seems... nah?
Like the Burgh bartape I've seen but it's spendy + not in stock anywhere + I've seen some issues with removal in this thread.
The bike, for reference, is grey/silver with red decals...
What shall I get? My LBS stocks the Kinesis stuff currently on there but I'm thinking of changing it up.

Just done a full refresh of the cockpit on my T900 including swapping out the quill stem for an adaptor and stem, new handlebars, and then this excellent PDW pizza tape. I fucking love it.

god I think I want it. interested to know how it holds up in rain
-

I've had the pizza tape before. I wouldn't say it's hugely grippy in the wet, but it's not bad and lasts well, as it's a nylon woven material.

This is the premium silicon-enhanced version - I've used the basic one before and I'd agree. I almost always wear gloves anyway, and this one has plenty of grip compared to the other one.

Anyone got any black Specialized Roubaix tape? Or know anywhere selling it? Or the same stuff that's rebranded as something else? Thanks!

Ancient post, but I have two rolls of this (Jo Burt tape) I haven't used yet. If you'd like one it's yours for a craft beer or a couple of bars of decent chocolate

If you don't mind posting - I can do you a local IoW craft beer + some choc?
(Totally understand if posting isn't an option, no worries if not!)
god damn it
