A close friend of mine is a Team GB rifle shooter. It’s not nearly as buyer. Once you get good enough you do get to go to the rifle factory and pick out your particular rifle out of a batch though, similar to how some top level musicians get to.
The clothes and shoes are meant to hold you super stiff and still while you aim and are extremely expensive. And of course you have to buy all of your pellets/bullets and it really really adds up if you are training all of the time.
