Velo Orange Neutrino - Large

  • Been a while since I've been here, the artist formerly known as Chug_It, brother of the infamous AFDS..

I'm building a Neutrino up having wanted to downsize from my AWOL that served me extremely well over the last few years.

Frame was bought new, as were the hubs and a couple of bits. Everything else has been sourced from eBay and the plan is complete the bike from eBay / second-hand / As New alone. I'm going for overbuilt but light which might be an oxymoron.

Really enjoying building this up, including getting back to the basics of wheel building. Really chuffed.

  • Going to be good.
    *Subbed

  • Thanks @Chaley, updates to follow shortly. Looking forward to getting it cabled up and getting the chain on

  • All finished. Rides amazingly and is a lot of fun. Very nippy and feels like a bmx, but a dream going uphill and very easy handling. Will finish the build list in previous post. Chuffed!

  • Lovely build overall! I reckon i've seen at least a couple of Surlys with the same stack tower

  • That looks so much fun. Would ride.

  • Just back from a week cruising around Roscoff. I'm yet to put a rack onto this, but the old Blackburn frame bag fits to within an inch and is perfect. Have heard about heel strike being an issue depending on crank/rear end length so might stick to my Outpost seat pack, and put a pizza rack and anything cages up front. Really chuffed with how this rides, just a lot of fun I guess and a few French old boys came over to have a look and a chat. Love how much they appreciate cycling over there
