I was mainly thinking of making something fun and old school for my kid. Thinking a minuture compass, whistle, paracord, (eventually) a mini sak.
I recognise the availability of superior design solutions*. But Internet geekery is strong and I'm surprised to be out geeking people who frequent torch or edc forums.
*Although a maglite body is pretty waterproof.

This is kind of what VSSL used to do before they realised coffee grinders are more profitable. I think it would just be so unnecessarily heavy. You can get much better optics in a smaller package now and then all the rest can go in a nice light dyneema pouch or something rather than a honking great offensive weapon.
