Grohe or Hansgrohe? That would be my German choice. Should be under 500€ probably.

Do you want actual unlacquered raw brass that will quickly tarnish and age with a cute patina, or fake PVD ‘brass effect’ which will remain pristine and gold forever?

I forget the name of the brand I recommended on here to @chrisbmx116 and others

I'd go with the fake one.
Also seems I was naive on what a decent shower/bath/taps cost.
Cheers @Tenderloin is that right though, can't see a anything

fake one
In that case, get whatever you like the look and price of. Modern sanitaryware mostly uses very similar ceramic cartridges and thermostatic components, little difference in function and longevity.

Vema is maybe the spelling then
-
• #11134
Especially if you order from europe to UK.
-
• #11135
Yeah, vema tibre I believe, but they may only be available in brushed steel.
I won’t mention arte forme as I defo couldn’t afford them now.

Lusso Stone?
-
• #11138
Is that any good, my wife sent one and I googled and the reviews were mixed.
It god design wise and hits price point.
https://www.lussostone.com/showers-c6/luxe-brushed-gold-thermostatic-shower-with-handheld-shower-p1318The Crosswater Mpro is perfect but at 1000 seems toppy but the 15y guarantee is encouraging.

We got ours from Britton and it's been fine

Studio Ore?
This is a 40k bathroom yes? -
• #11141
We have lusso stone and cross water in our place. Cross water is great but less options.
If you are not in a rush the. Saved eBay searches and you can normally get good deals

4k bathroom.
@Tenderloin when you say great, you mean quality wise. I decided I'm happy to spend a bit more and get something quality that will last.
Maybe we will just get stainless. I'm concerned the brushed gold effect will wear and flake.

we have brass cross water with the crossbox thing for the mixer, seems quality though there are some bits of plastic like the shower column fittings but the fact there is unlikely to be any issue with spares or repair swung it for us.
all this boutique stuff from abroad sounds great until something breaks and you need spares. (velocios kitchen tap scenario)

We went for brushed steel - just seemed more options and less likely to date
Yeah when I say quality I mean it’s well made, decent customer service and plenty of availability. Used in commercial a good amount which is often a good sign too.
I think it’s worth spending money on the stuff you touch as that’s where you will notice the cheaper stuff from the better
-
• #11145
Cheers both
-
• #11146
I’ve heard nothing but good things about Crosswater fwiw, solid reliable and well priced.
Vema are cheap and cheerful but look way nicer than they should.

We have had one for about 6 months and it’s been brilliant

I think that might prove smart, I worry that black/bronze effect sanitaryware might end up the equivalent of avocado or pink bathroom suites in a few years.

We bought Hudson Reed stuff on the basis that it wasn't the cheapest and price-wise was on a par with some other brands mentioned here but it's been quite shit.
Wish we'd gone with Lusso instead
Yeah that looks like 1000£ for the shower kit which it's too much. 400 max seemed reasonably to me.
