• Things I've learnt over the years:

    Some sort of stereotype about Japanese people makes outsiders think they do everything perfectly, when actually 90% of Japanese modified cars are bodged to fuck. However, by comparison to the UK and USA, a lot of heavily modified cars there, regardless of value, are driven about regularly and driven properly.

    RWB cars outside Japan are trophy cars sitting in garages and wheeled out for shows, whereas the early RWB and Idlers cars had their own race series where they all looked dumb, had no power, huge fucking tyres, and the owners raced them like they were shitboxes.

  • From selling Japanese imports, all I can say is that if they had stickers on the outside and a few shiney bits under the bonnet the cars sold very quickly. While the standard cars with no mods took longer to sell and sold for less.
    Changing all the fluids and service items made no difference in selling price. So wasn't done. But buyer were informed.
