  • Aah,no - sorry I misled you

All good, it's all very weird. I also tried every single available OBD2 app and none would connect, was starting to think I had a borked ECU.

  • Hope the little bumper scuff is nothing much dude x

  • GT86 is the better choice from a reliability and modern features standpoint I think. They're such a fantastic car to drive and it's a great combination of old school feel in fairly modern packaging. The top trumps bores will moan about the Torsen diff versus a proper LSD but it's absolutely fine 95% of the time. It'll lap a roundabout all day long if you know what you're doing, lay 11s and even do a burnout, so unless you're chasing laptimes at the track every month you don't need one.

  • Sick, let me get you a part number

  • I can't really see anywhere in Brisbane that you can buy it off the shelf, but if you know somewhere you can look up or ring, the p/n is

    92257573

Should be a GM ABS sensor wiring harness.

Let me know, and if no luck I'll order it online and just hope it gets here before the holiday. If not, it's not wasted money as it's unlikely Walkinshaw will get them in for a couple of months.

  • Cool, I'll let you know how I get on today. If I can't get one you should be able to get one shipped express no probs.

  • Tiny but fucking annoying. :) x

Edit: The STi lip kit would cover this up no problem. 🤔🤣

  • Said he'd had it rolled at 350bhp at a 'very conservative level of boost'. I'd had it around 280bhp with a £50 boost valve, gutted cat and second hand HKS boost controller. Easy tuning engine, possibly the best car I've had and all the better for being a bit tricky handling.

  • This guy is laughing. Absolutely fuck the frenzy around him, but he's living the dream. Get paid to fly around the world, cutting up cars, smoking tabs, drinking energy drinks, and feeling like the automotive equivalent of a rock star. I don't care for the hype but I can appreciate that he's living his dream.

  • Things I've learnt over the years:

Some sort of stereotype about Japanese people makes outsiders think they do everything perfectly, when actually 90% of Japanese modified cars are bodged to fuck. However, by comparison to the UK and USA, a lot of heavily modified cars there, regardless of value, are driven about regularly and driven properly.

RWB cars outside Japan are trophy cars sitting in garages and wheeled out for shows, whereas the early RWB and Idlers cars had their own race series where they all looked dumb, had no power, huge fucking tyres, and the owners raced them like they were shitboxes.

  • Watching him being paid to fly to LA, use a jigsaw to cut apart a 964 then stick it back together with grip adhesive is a thing to behold. I don't think he's ever pretended to be a anything other than what he is but people lap it up.

  • People let him near their rather nice Porsches with an angle grinder and hammer. Still smiling at the videos I watched.
Or does he have more tools now?

  • 90% of Japanese modified cars are bodged to fuck

Not my experience. I've definitely seen some questionable work but the general standard i've witnessed has been really good, especially around Yokohama. Can imagine your statement would ring true for the Kansai cars and drifters though. Not cars but there was a pretty good Japan doc which started with the usual bamboo screen, banzai tree, gravel garden setting and said as much as this exists the majority of Japanese buildings are a shit show!

For quality and driveability my impression was Germany wins the modifying game due to the TUV rules but i'm fairly out the loop.

  • That gave 100bhp boost?

Know little of the SW20 as I didn't like mine.

  • From selling Japanese imports, all I can say is that if they had stickers on the outside and a few shiney bits under the bonnet the cars sold very quickly. While the standard cars with no mods took longer to sell and sold for less.
Changing all the fluids and service items made no difference in selling price. So wasn't done. But buyer were informed.

  • 240bhp as standard in rev3, same engine as Celica GT four.

  • Just searched and I must of had the non Yamaha 2l

  • when I see what they sell for now…

    Sorry what the actual fuck?!?

    Around £20k.

Jesus. I wished I'd waisted money on buying cars when I was younger. I really wanted a mk2 MR2 too.

  • Well aren't many around as loads were scrapped also finding one that isn't fucked.

A nice glimpse into JDM culture on the ground from the Juicebox boys.

  • I'm a lot more excited by the cars Naito Auto Engineering are building than any RWB...

  • +1. There stuff is mostly Octane fodder but they do it without the chinos and loafers. Actually quite similar to the guys doing my 900. I'll be sad when it's done and i don't get to visit anymore!

  • Their stuff is a nice balance of ultra-spendy Octane fodder and realistic cars I've found... also nice that all of their cars look like they really do get driven!

Screenshots from @so_naitoo IG account... The Anglia is particularly fantastic and those Lotuses too...
