I'm just pointing out that some countries have some fucking stupid selection methods.
To us, who are not international athlete selectors for the respective Olympic teams.
Does look mad to not take her though based on the info available!

Nah just using JFK as an inspiration 😄

So where is dreamy pete going to be a ds in a world tour team .

A question for all those advocating for Pogacar to ride the Vuelta; how has Sepp Kuss done this season?
-
• #50956
Difficult to compare. Out with Covid before the Tour, not been selected for any GT as lead (as per his own wishes) and not exactly the same crazy dose of talent Pogi has.
-
• #50957
The question is, why has he been so disappointing this season? The case for the prosecution is that riding three GTs in a year at the sharp end is too much and significantly impacts an athlete’s ability to perform the following year.
-
• #50958
All three GTs won in one year (never been done) would be a bigger achievement than a 4th tour (been done by Frome and exceeded by 4 others).
There's already a good chance he will lose to a fit Vingegard next year anyway.
He could retire now and still be one of the all-time greats so must be tempting to go for the big prize, no?
-
• #50959
I completely understand your point, yet I believe Pogi is something else. He's the only one that can do it as far as I can see and this year it's his perfect chance.
-
• #50960
He has an opportunity to be the greatest rider of all time. To achieve that he has to race consistently for the next five seasons and win more of the major races. Compromising that to satisfy internet forum people’s desire to see someone attempt to win all three GTs in a year is pointless.
I want to see a contest between a fully fit Pogacar and a fully fit Vingegaard at the Tour next season. I don’t want a repeat of the past two Tours where one of them has arrived at the start line having had their preparation compromised by injuries caused by crashes.
Riding a third GT this year will definitely compromise Pogacar’s preparation for next year.

how has Sepp Kuss done this season?
thought he had covid during the tour?
-
• #50962
Wasn't Kuss on 5 consecutive GT starts? Also he was probably going much deeper than Pog has to as in supporting role he woukd be emptying himself to set-up his leader, and he may not have Pog's superpowers of recovery. #armchairds
I think.the 3GT's was mentioned in commentary on Saturday, so it is more than just the internet armchair ds's talking about it.

Honestly, those bloody Internet forum people who want to see a contest between a fully fit Pogacar and a fully fit Vingegaard at the Tour next season and don't want a repeat of the past two Tours where one of them has arrived at the start line having had their preparation compromised by injuries caused by crashes. Splitters! :)

I blame AXA.

I was wondering the same thing.
His brother is currently at Bahrain Victorious, he has history with both Bora and Ineos.

There’s probably a Specialized element too, as Trinity Racing, where Kennaugh is currently DS, is mainly funded by them.

Dreamy Pete guilelessly posting a pic of his latest self help book purchase by one Jordan B Peterson then being startled by the responses remains a Twitter highlight of mine

Jonas has a second child on the way. He's done.

G was saying on Watts occurring that the Vuelta is pegged for a UAE lieutenant, Yates or Alameda I guess, and Pogi needs to keep the minions happy.
Also, that the Vuelta could negatively impact the 2025 Pog-cineration of the 2025 field.
This makes some sense.
Will Mateo Jorgensen be team leader for VLB at the Vuelta?
-
• #50971
Ayuso is the likely UAE leader for the Vuelta, assuming he’s recovered from Covid.
Kuss will likely lead VLAB no, as defending champion? With Uijtdebroeks as the back up.
-
• #50972
Yes! Squeeze out Jorgensons so eventually he ends up back at Movistar like Nairo but in Mateo's case its karma.
-
• #50973
yep, no coming back from that, look at Wout, Roglic etc
-
• #50974

My understanding was that Kuss told the team he didn't want to be the leader at a grand tour.

Am I right in saying the Le Tour Femmes is not being shown on itv like the men's was?
Ah, I was just wondering because you used German there. :)
