Ah but when they change sponsor the previous sponsor's kit is given away. My neighbour's daughter, Charlotte Purdue is running the Olympic marathon and is now sponsored by Adidas. I now have a handy suitcase.

Excellent! I now await my ex-Team GB track bike with increased optimism.

TBF, we don’t pay for their training to reach Olympic standard. We pay for a tracksuit and some of the kit they will wear. If anyone puts in the work and is able to get enough sponsorship from companies to get to the Olympics then they’ve earned a two week shagfest.

Excellent! I now await my ex-Team GB track bike with increased optimism.
There were some folk around mcr that got Pinarello's (road) bitd, but once Cervelo supplied it seemed any leftovers got sawn through and skipped. I imagine some made it out quietly though.
The best of times was when they sold all the Team Sky rapha kit off with money raised for the Dave Rayner fund, around 2015 iirc.
Merino base layers & merino boxer shorts I got then are still going strong.

In drying room update, I think I have found a decent airing rack solution

I'm still awaiting Team GB track cycling freebies from my cousin... not holding my breath.

You're always going to be in golf club chat territory when DJ enters the room

By the time I have bought materials and created a rack with hinges etc getting something off the peg actually makes a lot of sense. The house we live in is where we intend to stay for many years so it is a worthwhile investment.
What makes a lot sense with this rack is the ability to lower the top rack and then raise it back up, so as old age and decrepitude gets worse we can still air sheets etc easily.
It is also a lot cheaper than the single creel @hugo7 suggested.

And this. Fucking money gun all the first world issues.

Glue is faster on the road, tape is faster to apply.
-
• #122963
Well between now and Sundays TT, I have very little free time - so tape seems optimum in that sense. The two day gluing process didn’t appeal!

Bar tape. I used to love the Lifeline black Professional bar tape that had a texture to it (nonsticky) - any idea of an equivalent that's on sale these days?
RIP wiggle.

I find it quite therapeutic, but it is a faff.

• #122966
First time doing it, in a carpeted rented flat, while short on time and high on general life stress doesn’t make for an appealing set up for a first attempt at gluing up!

I like the fabric brand stuff

high on general life stress
Getting high on tub glue solvent will take the edge off that😉

RIP wiggle.
Not quite dead yet. Lots of bargains, inc. tape.

Wait, wut? Or do you mean their eBay?
-
• #122972
There appears to be some stock floating around on Ebay, if you dont mind it in white :-/
I loved that stuff - wish I'd bought a load!

Ta. I just assumed they killed it off.

If you are in the UK, you've probably got a county-based Wildlife Trust.
You've probably also got more locally focussed groups which are dependent upon relatively small sums of money. -

Does anyone make a 22.2mm to 31.8 (BMX to os MTB) handlebar shim?
Good to know, I’ll take a look.
