IMO I think it is a £400-£500 bike at best, probably less. There aren't any real stand out components. Your friend appears to have paid £800 for £200 or less wheelset. It is definitely a bit different and probably rides nicely but that doesn't make it valuable. I do wish him the very best of luck with the sale though and kudos to you for helping him out.
What do you think’s realistic then? The owner’s a real character - off grid living, doesn’t drive, only cycles (and commutes to his gardening work) single speed and doesn’t do phones/internet, hence me taking on the sale. I’d really like to get him the best price I can for him, but open to offers…
