I think this is a quick pivot to Charli xcx supporting her, declaring this to be KH's brat summer. I did not spot it and had to be told, but I am so far from their target demographic.

Joe Biden? Insert troll face here.

A weakness of the democrats is that they haven't had a primary that wasn't a foregone conclusion since 2008.

Thanks for this.
You have helped me to realise that Charli xcx different to Jamie xx.

I misread it as bart summer and thought she was referring to an old episode of the Simpsons

There is historical precedent to the concept, I’m afraid. See the Mariel boat lifts from Cuba (Peru offered refuge to a few Cubans in their embassy; Fidel decreed that anyone wanting to leave Cuba should head to the Peruvian embassy; thousands of desperate people overwhelmed the embassy; Cuban emigres convinced the US to send boats to collect their loved ones; Castro agreed to let the boat captains take the people on their lists on the condition that they take other people -many of whom were later proven to be spies, released prisoners, mentally ill people, and other unfortunate souls-).
I think he’s believed his own lies or someone else’s that LATAM leaders are doing the same now.
Or! He’s just doing what propagandists do best and is covering his bullshit with a pinch of truth, to win the votes of xenophobes, and the anti-Castro Cuban and anti-communist latino diaspora.

Kamala needs to get the Morgan Wallen demographic. And given that Charli's "besties" include Matty "racist jokes" Healy and Dasha from Red Scare (Mean Girls on Brat is about her), who last week was doing this - https://www.reddit.com/r/Fauxmoi/comments/1e5ry8x/dasha_nekrasova_and_her_boyfriend_doing_target/, I'm not sure the rich, white, north London private school, edgy, cool girl is the vote the Democrats really need.

You definitely have a point regarding Charlie xcx maybe not being the best endorsement.
But I think doing the green thing might be cringe, no idea, but no thing as bad press, no? -

no thing as bad press, no?
Have a chat with Joe Biden.

It's clear that this doesn't apply directly to getting votes.
But if press (ok, memes) get young people to vote that should help her? Vote turnout under 24 was 27 percent in 2020.
If the assumption is that young magas vote, and non voters aren't stupid, just not interested. Or something like that. -

A coronation of KH is not ideal...Debate and discuss issues that will be a positive counterweight to Trump and Vance's negative attacks.... Hopefully, energize the Democrats and the US electorate towards securing the White House for KH or whoever plus retaining the enate and regaining the House as a prelude to overturning Dobbs!

I think you've overly crediting President Sharpie, there. He doesn't have to think much about his dumbest statements, surrounded by lackeys who are afraid to contradict him and a fanbase who worship anti-intellectualism. Some of the shit he says is carefully calculated, but he could name Terence Howard as the new head of the Department of Education and the MAGA hats would start calling "1 x 1 = 1" fake math.

Our CEO signs off their internal communications with a Sharpie. I’m profoundly disturbed by it all. What kind of monster signs off with a Sharpie and thinks this is okay.

He began by sticking to his script, solemnly referencing the failed assassination attempt ... and almost immediately changed the subject. “And there’s an interesting statistic,” he said: “The ears are the bloodiest part. If something happens with the ears, they bleed more than any other part of the body. For whatever reason, the doctors told me that.”

I'm curious to see how leaning in to brat means converts to electoral success in the rust belt
-
• #18221
If you can motivate traditionally apathetic demographics to turn out and vote, you can do a lot of things, electorally speaking.
-
• #18222
You put what I was trying to say better.
But maybe all the 20 year old us citizens want to elect an old creep, who now's.

It seems as if the alt right bubble has lost its lustre to a significant extent.
Overall, traffic to pro-Trump sites declined 40% over the past four years.

As a result of Facebook changing their algorithms.
Makes you wonder how those who worked for Facebook/Meta across the period feel about their contribution to Myanmar, the Alt Right and Trump.
... And also whether the company will go back to promoting the same genre of content if it will improve revenue generation.

Those big names like breitbart are one thing, and it's good to read that those assholes probably aren't getting rich anymore.
But isn't a lot of the hatred and fake news on telegram and tiktok?
German fascist party afd is very good at tiktok, and the idiots got their info on telegram during the pandemic.
I'm reading that all the top democrats are now lining up behind Kamala as their presidential nominee. However, someone pointed out that having a tussle for the Democratic candidacy could actually be a positive thing. A kind of X Factor type of competition that would draw in the viewers and overshadow all of the Republicans' shenanigans.
It's probably preferable that there is no doubt that the party is united behind Kamala, but how about creating a proper show out of who should fill the VP spot? An element of competition could create genuine excitement and you'd get to see rhetorical heavy weights like Buttigieg battle it out on stage at a level that will only highlight what a bunch of incoherent brats MAGA scum like Baubert or Gaetz really are.
