  • If you can get away with losing a pillion seat I just use tail packs nowadays, can’t stand having a rucksack on. Last one i got was some generic amazon thing but it’s been fine

  • Nah, I need a backpack. Proper hauling duties are for the other bike.

@Jung thanks fam. Made my life simpler. I roll light, you think it’ll be enough?

  • I'd get the 25l if I bought it again - there's no difference in size if you're just carrying a few things but you can stuff a bit more in. Useful if you carry a water bladder, as they take up a surprising amount of space. They're so well designed, that even packed with tools and water, you don't notice the weight.

  • Shit that’s good to know. I’m awful at hydrating and need a visual cue to remember to drink water.

  • Thanks. I should have listed it a month or so ago but wanted to actually use it and have my mind made up.

Went on a bit of a ‘meh’ period with bikes (among other things), and it was compounded by losing all my use-cases for a powerful bike.

I use my big orange courier bag or a Puma backpack when riding, but the weight adds up quickly. Often it gets strapped to the pillion seat because reasons.

  • Is right.

  • Cbr6f3 for 200 in Clapham non runner.

Please someone buy it so I don't

  • Don’t. Way effort. Buy mine working and save the hassle

  • But 200 is the right region for a rat bike build ;)

  • Reality is I need to either use or sell the bikes I have.

  • Well until you spend £600 on parts and 4 months of weekends you’ll never get back!

I too avoid the junk now. I saw a £650 Fantic Jr (1990/1991) and was sorely tempted to put the cash in the guy’s hand. It was missing too many fixings and too many ‘?’ moments looking at previous owner ….input.

  • {sarcastic} Mate, live in reality. The bike will be worked on for the first weekend and then pushed to the back of the garage. Will sit there for a few years, lose a few more bits and then be sold again

How many bike projects have I got ;)

  • Went out to Wales this weekend to collect this 1983 CB100n. It was a gift from a friend and his mum.

It's been off the road for most of its life, stored in a shed for around 30 years. Has 3000 miles and 1 previous owner.

Tonight I added some fresh fuel and it kicked right in to life!

Plans are give it a good scrub, polish the chrome and treat the inside of the fuel tank for rust.

  • Looks nice, I’d be looking at new tyres after that long without use though.

  • Nice little bike, I think I’d maybe give it an oil change as well as tyres if you’re planning to keep it.

  • Ah 12hp as compared to 15hp on the 125 and quarter of the insurance.

Have a soft spot for 100cç of this era but probably rose tinted spectacles

  • FB marketplace man….

  • FB marketplace ive found is the worst place to sell or buy anything.

  • Yeah a guy I bought some gear off of was stumped that I’d actually turned up on the day and time agreed on, knocked a tenner off of the stuff.

  • When buying, I get similar levels of gratitude for turning up on time and on the day as promised.

Maybe it has got much much worse for selling than when I bought the bike 2 1/2 years ago off Marketplace.

  • Passed my Mod 2 yesterday, was over in the blink of an eye and surprisingly easy, realised that a lot of my anxieties were a result of the constant chat from an instructor, on a nice quiet ride with the examiner I had all the time in the world to think what I was doing. Hopefully picking up a Transalp 600 next week.

  • Well done. A lot of it is in your head. It’ll feel different now you’re let loose.
