Derek called out Trump for not matching his belt and shoes.
Carns then called Derek a liberal.
Derek agreed, and joked that being a liberal is what allows him to differentiate between shades of brown, insinuating that conservatives treat any sort of nonwhite people like they are all the same.

When they were designing the costumes for Idiocracy they were looking for weird shit and the costume designer came across some shoes that everyone in the production agreed were the stupidest looking things they'd ever seen and hadn't yet gone on sale to the public and were sure no-one would ever be dumb enough wear IRL.
