  • I've just built a wheel using a NOS Shimano CB-E110 hub that is missing its nuts. From Shimano's exploded view diagrams I know it's a 3/8" axle, and the part number for the nuts is Y28615000. From googling I've found that this axle has 24tpi threads while pretty much every other hub with a 3/8" axle uses 26tpi.

Nowhere I'm familiar with has Y28615000 in stock, and I'd rather the fancy nuts with a captive spinning flange.

Where has nice 3/8" 24tpi wheel nuts?

Might be worth hunting around the parts bin of a shop which was involved in BMX in the olden days, if there's one near you that's still in business.

Could try Alan's in Wigan, that's not too far from you right?

  • Yeah their website didn't list any so it would be in the dusty workshop drawer if they have them. The wheel is going in a Raleigh Bomber that has a retro AlansBMX sticker on it.
