This is another thing, I need to learn how to tune a snare properly. My current technique involves cranking everything to be really tight so that I get a nice crack out of my snare that cuts through the rest of the band.
It's really fun playing something that different that gets me out of my comfort zone!

I sometimes look up what people used on recordings I like, even just for a vague starting point, because obviously it can really vary depending on recording and production. I think for cleaner stuff the most important thing is tuning it properly.
