Nothing has been done to the frame in terms of trying to repair it, I'm holding off and waiting for Robert's response.
I have been to about 20 local bike shops, 2 referred me to frame repair shops, I went to those frame repair shops and they said they can try to tap it out, but because the bend is in the front and not the sides, there's a chance the head tube will break during the repair ... So because they weren't confident, we wait
I asked Robert about claiming Polish Post insurance, I'm not sure if insurance was bought on this package, as USPS told me they didn't see any insurance listed. Polish Post would know for sure, and I just wasted $10 of minutes and waiting 3+ hrs for someone to pick up... They closed at 8pm so I will try to call again tomorrow to see if there is a claimable insurance
And yes, it's likely , no bike shop wants to take responsibility for further damaging a frame, which is why I'm getting rejected left and right
Just very unfortunate, but if Robert would send another one that would be the best case since I wouldn't have to worry about repairing, and if repaired, falling off the bike when it does break
Don't do anything to it until you've got a response to your email that you can't find any shops who will repair.
Have you searched for framebuilders in your area? That might deliver a better result.
So far nothing that unreasonable has happened over the last 2 days:
It's annoying, but if a local builder assessed it and said, "yeah, I can fix that for €100", then it would likely be faster for you and cheaper for Mielec to cover that cost than the cost of shipping both ways and repairing. So I can see the rationale for asking you to check when it's a small outfit.
But really this should be Mielec claiming on shipping insurance and making good.
