It was the right thing to do.
Why?
It was the right thing to do.It is certainly reminiscent of a The Day Today interview.

Did I miss her asking the key question? Has he actually met Trump since going over to support him?
-

Why would it have been wrong not to visit?
Ffs visiting the orange idiot was clearly not a right or wrong thing. It was clearly done because Farage thought he could get some (air) mileage out of it.

He missed a trick. He could have just used his "diamond geezer" schtick and said "i'm just here to support a mate who needed my help" and many would have accepted that. "it was the right thing to do" sounds like a politicians answer.
He's there to court people in the US and that is all.

Surely the best way for the media to have handled it is by mostly ignoring his trip, invite him onto some broadcaster politics talk show thing, then say something along the lines of 'Unfortunately we asked Nigel Farage to participate in today's show to discuss his plans for Clacton, however he's currently otherwise engaged in America on a personal trip.'

@GeorgeMonbiot The sentences handed to the five @JustStop_Oil
campaigners are utterly disproportionate. Four and five years in
prison for peaceful protest? This is what you might expect in Russia
or Egypt, not in a supposed democracy. The Sun had infiltrated the JSO people. Murdoch's enormous resources devoted to this case. It stinks.

That's insane, they should be the first in line for an early release.

Murdoch's enormous resources devoted to this case
Personal vendetta after they blocked his print sites with protests? It would be very like him.

Marjorie Taylor Greene telling Maitlis to fuck off is worth a watch. It's on Twatturd somewhere.
-
• #88463
That was weeks ago.
She's since did similar to a Times radio jouno. -
• #88464
Mental are prisons are apparently full but filling them with non violent protesters is OK
-
• #88465
Maitlis has probably realised that she's not going to be interviewing these people on a regular basis so she can ask them difficult questions politely and not worry about the repercussions. Same with Kari Lake's interview.

They just want to make an example of them. IMO. Possibly to try and curb it happening more

If bridge-burning is not going to hamper future access, you might as well kick them in the balls and give the viewers what they want. The same logic as Krishnan confronting the outgoing Tory Home Secretary with a list of every immoral thing a Tory did in government and concluding that they're morally bankrupt. 8 mins 11 secs in. https://www.channel4.com/news/cleverly-challenged-on-betting-scandal-and-visas-for-orphans-from-gaza

The I'm alright who cares about others attitude?
-

Makes no sense to me either.
But does seem to be that protesting in a peaceful way is against our beliefs.

Why would it have been wrong not to visit?
He must be making a ton of money out of it somehow. Is it OK to have undeclared income from foreign politicians when you're supposed to be working for your constituents?
It's interesting that he presented the trip as a gesture of friendship. With Trump being a narcissist and psychopath, all his friendships are transactional and have nothing to do with affection or loyalty. So it's safe to assume that money is involved. But there are so many ways to funnel it indirectly...it would be easy to hide.
