  • Does anyone have any idea what language this is, and how I might go about translating it? It was found in a Victorian dump.
I tried Google lens and other translate from image websites but not had any luck.

  • Looks like Chinese characters (or Japanese kanji), someone on here might recognise them

  • ChatGPT fu says

The symbols on the token in the image appear to be Chinese characters. The character in the center is "福" (fú), which means "good fortune" or "happiness." This character is commonly used in Chinese culture, especially in decorations and amulets, to convey wishes for prosperity and good luck.

The intricate design surrounding the character suggests it may be a decorative or symbolic piece, possibly used as a charm or part of a traditional ornament.
