I’d say as a whole Southgate has massively over performed with England. The problem with the English press and a chunk of the fan base is that they’re completely delusional.
Can’t see him as a club coach though. He seems like a relatively nice person, you could say too nice in such a cutthroat environment.

I’m not saying he’s completed it…
Just that he’s probably enjoying a full time job with more control than an international role.

A poor start from Erik ten Hag and Scruffy Jim will be on the phone to Gareth sharpish I reckon.

England have the current players of the season in the English and Spanish leagues and the top scorer in the Bundesliga.
One of these leagues is clearly not like the others if a wardrobe is top scorer

A side note, his final game playing for Boro, was against Sevilla in the 2006 UEFA Cup, Jesus Navas played that day and was on the bench the other day.

A Como player called Hwan-Hee Chan jacky chan in racial slur incident in their friendly with wolves at the weekend. Daniel Podence got a straight red afterwards for punching the Como player. Violence is never the answer, but good lad. Pretty shocking response from Como. This will be damaging to their international hipster image. Cesc will not be happy.

Fernandez has 6 black French teammates at Chelsea. It's going to be an awkward 8 years as their contracts wind down...

What's this all about, what did Enzo say/do?
-
• #171041
Singing racist and transphobic songs about French players.

You can find the translation of the chant online - it's pretty grim, no-grey-area stuff. Also pretty long, so they'd all taken the time to learn the words and knew it well.

He's well-suited to Chelsea.

Argentina’s squad, though, have succeeded in souring their Copa moment after a video emerged showing some of their players taking part in racially offensive chanting on the team bus — with a song containing derogatory references to France internationals of African descent.
One question you’ll immediately ask, among many others — why, at the end of a tournament involving nations from the Americas, would Argentina be singing about the French?
The controversy can be traced back to the 2022 World Cup. Before the countries met in the final, pockets of Argentina fans were recorded chanting about how certain French players had African ancestry or were first- or second-generation immigrants.
