Should prob go in one of the rant/grass threads, but:
The electrician working on our house, who I've mildly bonded with over him being Albanian and me Ukrainian, just took me aside and made me watch a vid on his phone of his dashcam.
He drives one of those monstrous lifted VW Amarok pickup cuntwagons, and the vid was of him slowly rear-ending and sideswiping 3x cars and a van whilst shouting instructions to his mates in them... "yeah, do it again, nah reverse, yeah, the other side"...
He had a devilish grin the whole time whilst the vid was playing, then expected me to be impressed when he said he was "gonna make £25K easy" from this. I was left speechless, and he was genuinely sad that I didn't share in his glee.

Not interested in grassing anyone up, was just shocked at this dude chomping at the bit to show a complete stranger a video of himself being a full blown spunk bubble.

I think everyone says their entire family was in the car and all got whiplash, doctor's note from crooked doctor, overblown 'invoices' for 'car repairs' and 'hire cars'...
About 10 years ago I had a gentle kiss with someone's bumper whilst parking, zero visible damage. We exchanged details and the dude said not to worry about it. Next thing I knew, my insurance called to flag a £13K claim against me, including whiplash claims for 4x people (the guy was alone at the time) and £5K vehicle repairs. Guy tried claiming I rammed into him at high speed.

...and there's little incentive for the insurance companies to do anything about it, as they're all on the gravy train creaming from each other and passing the cost onto the consumer.

If anyone South with a VAG engined motor needs servicing or work done, I've just used CRS Autos down in Croydon. Full injector pull and clean, regular service, DSG service, valve cleaning (walnut blasting) and all sorts. TFSI/TSI specialists. Seem like really nice guys, sent photo updates and explained why certain things needed/didn't need done (backed up with scary photos from the guts of my engine - quoted for valve cleaning but sent a photo to show why it didn't really need it and took it off the bill). There was also confusion from both sides at the outset, mainly caused by shit info from me, but because of that they knocked £70 off the bill (one bit of work they initially said needed done but it didn't, took that off as well as the discount for the confusion). One of the techs drove up in a very scary sounding TT so I took comfort in them being enthusiasts.
