  • We're all vunts but I don't understand the bb angst.. IME Shimano and SRAM both just work

  • I don’t know if @gbj_tester has any Scottish lineage

As far as I know, without having wasted much time on genealogy, I've been fortunate in that regard.

  • But you wear a kilt with such élan, or did I dream imagine that?

  • Scotsmen are not the only people who wear skirts🙂

  • Talking of snake oil...... Red Shift stems... any good??

  • I liked mine.

I'm probably going to get another for my partner's bike.

I may even buy one for my bike, assuming I can actually ride any time soon.

  • only if bought on aliexpress

  • Lol. Reminds me of my 'Up Norf' Yorkshire fam. Every sentence includes expletives, even/especially the little tots.

Redshift stem is amazing! If Hambini says anything bad about that, I will personally slap him and call him a c***. Happy?

  • I often ride a bike with some kind of squeak, who cares?!

I dunno, people who like nice bikes?

  • IME Shimano and SRAM both just work

Sure, when they're mounted on a frame that isn't wrong.

This smells a bit like someone in the demographic majority pooh-poohing complaints of discrimination from folks in minorities...

Me, I listen to what people say. Occasionally I get taken in by a bullshitter, but after a few decades you more or less get the hang of evaluating claims.

  • I thought this thread was already finished after yt auto captions called him "ham baby".

  • At the end of the day, he's slamming other companies to sell his own brand... marketing at it's finest!

  • All of this precision engineering from an intolerable dickhead is moot, because the bearings on the Richmond Park carbon wanker chariot will be ruined in 10mins due to the owner insisting on jetwashing it after every ride.

  • Dunno about that. They've always been shonky imo (you either get a good or a bad one). There's just more of them out there.

  • Private equity firms sniff around for industries full of value generated by passionate and creative people doing stuff they love, and then buy up all the biggest and best companies with the niftiest IP. But of course they don't stop there; then they milk it all to death, cutting costs and ripping out dividends until the main product of the industry is hollow scammy nostalgia. Currently happening to computer gaming.

  • Rich people ruin everything

  • Nationalise the bike industry

  • thats just capitalism no?

  • until the main product of the industry is hollow scammy nostalgia

Be careful of what you wish for, the disruptive new entrant when automotive brands disappeared up their own back catalogue was Tesla🙂

  • Hambini is going to buy Twitter?

  • We had capitalism before the seventies though.

It's neoliberalism, innit. 'Advanced' countries don't need a manufacturing sector, instead the most important thing is an unfettered 'financial services' 'industry' to 'maximise' 'value' for 'everyone'

  • On the other hand, neoliberalism is the wish-list of capitalist scum, so I guess you can consider it capitalism without the socialism that provides a society to exploit...

  • I thought this thread was already finished after yt auto captions called him "ham baby".

    I got "ham beanie"
