Yeah I figured that now the weekend and euros are done and dusted I should lay off on that too.

Metronidazole and its ilk will cause a disulfiram-alcohol reaction. All other antibiotics are basically fine.
That being said Doxycycline is a pretty grim antibiotic regardless and can cause a nasty oesophagitis @Rodolfo if you develop new heartburn or difficulty swallowing then go back to your doctor.
