Just seen this deck, and if anyone has one or sees one for sale, that isn’t battered to fuck, let me know. I’d like to buy it.
Longshot I know but thought it’d ask..

Did an hour of rolling around and hating everything at Woodingdean skatepark. All that time not skating in the last, what, eight years has really put me in a hole.
Need more goes.(the park’s small but nice, lots of flow possible if there’s just a couple of skaters in the place. Edit - and it’s Woodingdean not Bevendean, you can’t move for deans down here).

New skateboard for jnr, first time applying grip tape so the edge finishing is a bit rubbish. But they don’t care so all good.
Used the last bit of snoopy grip tape from their previous board so there was some continuity. Like the idea of them seeing their growth/development over time through their boards (if they keep doing it)
Will be heading to skatepark tomorrow to test it out..

Haha that Peanuts grip is wicked.
Next time stick it down so it hangs over the edges then razz around it with a big file. -
• #2731
i usually just use the leftover grip tape.

thats the last step, i'm a big fan of going round the outside with a file to mark the edges, then a stanley knife to get it roughly to shape, then a round file

And then wet & dry sanding, then a wax based undercoat, then a hi gloss lacquer.

followed by three layers of a beeswax based furniture polish

Oh yeah, sorry I read it as you were finishing with a giant file. Often I just run the metal part of a skate tool around to mark but yeah a file does a much better job.

Used the file on my t tool, to try to file away some of the excess, but it was more a case of shoddy Stanley knife work during the cutting away process.
Also don’t have a big file!
Next one we’ll do together and I’ll speak to their uncle about whether they have a big file to neaten the edges.Took them to the skatepark with it yesterday and they had a great time. I’m going to have to do some extra practice to catch up to their progress.

that is as close as you're likely to get unless someone has it as a wallhanger and is willing to sell -
• #2747
Yeah have seen that one. Not sure about getting one that used!

Why are you keen for a Finlay Baker?
-
• #2749
Jnr’s called Finlay, thought it’d be cool for them to have a board with their name on it.
-
• #2750
Let them paint/ draw on their board as an art project. They can write their own name on?
Yea it’s a great “on your doorstep” park. Little, but I’m not complaining.
