Did England ever play well before the substitutes came on in the whole tournament?
-
• #170917
Rooney, Lampard & Gerrard triple threat.
Anyway, best team won. Congratulations Spain.

• #170918
England can only be arsed when they’re behind. Totally sat back after equalising and just let Spain play; they were never going to hold out to 90mins.

• #170919
Was that Ayoze Perez?

Sweet Carolina...

With a decent manager England could win a tournament. Hopefully they'll stick with Southgate tho.
-
• #170922

There was a moment after we’d scored and we had a throw in on the edge of the Spanish box. Cole palmer whipped the crowd up a bit and then we threw the ball backwards and it was with Pickford in one pass. That just summed it up for me. We threw away our momentum then.
Spain were much the better team. Dani Olmo off the line, phenomenal.

Exactly, that’s why Southgate isn’t the answer. They’re far too cautious and that hasn’t changed over his tenure.

Sure it’s the hope that kills you, but at least England do have realistic hopes, unlike the other home nations.
England love switching off
