In other mtb related business. My emtb has produced loads of error messages and intermittent power issues so is with LBS for what is likely to be a motor replacement under warranty.
So Friday I rode hard(tail) anal(ogue). First time in over a year and I thought there must be lumps of dried sealant causing the wheels to feel lumpy, it felt like the wheels were square. Turns out I have just forgotten how to pedal having only ridden turbo trainer or emtb for last twelve months. It took about 20 minutes to stop feeling like the bike was lurching as I pedalled.
Also the e bike performs best at 85rpm cadence whereas I used to pedal around 95-100 when riding non assisted bikes. So I’ll focus on higher cadence smoother pedalling while waiting for the warranty.
I think I should ride a non assisted bike once a month just to remind myself how it feels. I feel like my bike handling skills have improved with the e bike, cornering drops etc all felt more confident on the hard tail than a year ago, being able to session has really helped.
