The fist in the air seems like a giveaway to me.

Trump is an excellent showman. The man has a gift for the grift. I cannot think of anything more plausible than him immediately sensing the moment and gesturing accordingly.

He grabbed the moment. That photo of him with fist in the air is campaign winner. Weather he did it knowingly or it was an instinctive gesture. That pic is quite incredible.
