  • Ranges are typically enclosed to some degree for safety which would have totally different acoustics to a big open area.

    I’m talking about big outdoor ranges like 100-300m. You hear a BANG as the bullet passes overhead, then 1-2 seconds later you hear the sound from the rifle. If the bullet hits something soft like the earth banks on the range you hear that PEWWWW noise.

  • Fair enough. I've never been in an outdoor range that didn't have banked sides on the bottom sections.

    I still think trying to analyse anything from accounts or how the audio sounds (which has been recorded, processed, and played back by your device) is a mugs game.
