  • Thought they do various types of 500 not just the panda/ford Ka platform isn't one based on one of the Jeeps.

  • At a finger in the air, is it your fault? Was there anyone else involved?

If it is dont bother claiming. The cost will far out weight the value of the car.

As for insurance increase, far more than the car is worth and will effect every one on the policy as they have a claim against them. Also in insurance terms after having an accident (non fault or fault) you are an increased risk hence premium for the next 3-5 years.

  • Too late, was on Friday.

    I guess we’ll see!

  • Found a very cheap Chrysler 300c diesel estate with Bentley badging... I'm tempted and changing all the badging to the lancia.

Note that insurance is increased due to the Bentley badges....

  • Twin engined/hybrid Volvo question- if you don’t have a drive to charge the battery I’m assuming they’re just a petrol engined vehicle- they don’t do regenerative braking to charge the battery?

  • Both mild hybrid and plug-in hybrid Volvos have regenerative braking, or are you asking something else?

  • Regen braking wont be enough to charge a plug in version if thats what youre thinking.

  • "If you don’t have a drive to charge the battery I’m assuming they’re just a petrol engined vehicle"

Yes. It's just a petrol engines car, but a bit heavier

  • Thanks- went and waved a tape measure at one and it’s too small anyway.

  • this is a new one on me. saw a Fiat 500 with the rear wheels in the middle in the Netherlands. had to google to find out why

    loopy loopholes.

  • Can be done to a panda and a Ka too, as the same floor pan but not sure how road legal that would be.

Been talked about on a few panda and Ka fora

  • I’m trying to change the water pump on my Audi 80 as it was making a horrifying noise. It’s such a bastard to get to.

I’m trying to undo the bolts on the pulley. But the pulley keeps rotating. Fucked if I know how to stop it.

  • How many bolts?

  • I’ve taken out about 6 so far. Sorry read that wrong there’s 6

  • The trick I have used in the past is to use the bolt at the bottom to keep the pulley braced. Use a normal ring spanner and then a ratchet spanner on the others.

  • No, saloon, bikes go where the back seats used to be

  • Couple of sockets in/on two of the bolts then use a pry bar (or anything long-ish that fits) between them to stop it spinning whilst you crack one of the others.

  • Great shout, thanks

  • Only problem it’s an Allen key bolt

  • Allen/Torx keys/bits should work well enough to hold it in place (make sure they're well seated as you add tension to them). Think I used a couple of impact driver bits on mine with no bother.

  • Usually best to loosen them off while the belt is still on, lock the engine position and crack them loose first.

  • Has anyone any experience of touch up kits. I have a couple of stone chips which I would like to repair. I've been looking at Chipex but it's pricey.

  • In the end I got 2 x 6mm Allen keys with a shaft of metal on each one. That got them loose. It was hard work and there was very little space.

  • Got round to washing both cars for the first time in a long while… trying out a new snow foam - bilt hamber “touch less”, seems to work pretty well and only needed a very small amount as it’s very concentrated.

Pretty sure I’m going to sell the Boxster soon - just need to find the right 997 to replace it

  • Yesterday afternoon at A4 junction with Taplow Hill:
Near pristine, (externally), Y-reg Alpina B3, in red.
    Apologies, no pictures.
