  • Drying racks - for outside and inside use. What’s a good one? The one I spent £10 has just fallen apart.

  • Are we talking about clothes horse / laundry drier things?

  • Yes pls

  • John Lewis own brand ones have been good for me for a good few years. You can pay more for Liebherr ones but the JLP ones have been more than adequate for me.

  • Addis

  • Great!

  • The £19 Ikea 'frost' one has done us fine for 10 years+

  • You can pay more for Liebherr

I wish that were true, would love to dry my clothes on one of these, but I imagine you really mean https://www.leifheit.co.uk/drying-racks-and-airers-9-c.asp

  • Good call!

ETA - My Biden moment, I guess.

  • +1 for leifheit. They do a plethora of versions to suit different needs as per testers link

  • My local dump (landsman way Lewisham) don’t take pallets but they do take wood. If I break down the pallet will they accept it? Or is it not because pallets are bulky but because they’re treated?

  • To me a broken down pallet looks just like wood, so I guess it would to them too :). Having dismantled pallets before they can be a bit of a mare...

  • Can’t you just leave it outside for someone to take?

  • Did I read it right in a thread on here (can't remember which one), that I can use 11 Speed 105 mechanical (cable brake and gear) shifters with a GRX rear mech, and that'll all be fine?

  • Yeah, they're both 11 speed road.

  • Anyone know if there is a feed for recommended training coaches?

Like…. people / companies members recommend who create and deliver bespoke training plans for events?

Can’t seem to find one when searching.

  • Anyone been travelling round Panama?

If you did a young family holiday for 10 days in Aug and you wanted to have, a. safe for children swimming beaches and b. cool wildlife, where would you go?

Bocas del Toro? Looks nice, but quite a way from Panama City.

  • A question for fixeh mumsnet

Heated drying rack vs heat pump tumble dryer - which does a better job of drying clothes and leaving them in a state where they can simply be folded rather than needing ironing?

  • Option 3, normal drying rack and dehumidifier.

  • I've been to Panama for work a few times and it wouldn't be my first thought for a family holiday. Panama City was nice enough, Colon was a hole.

Think there's lots of eco lodges and the like in the rainforest though which is probably what you want to be looking at.

  • We do this in the winter, its very effictive.

  • We’ve got a little heated rack and I’d say it’s pretty rubbish. Definitely better than not being heated, but probably not worth the energy it uses. You also have to cover the whole thing with a sheet or towel to make it effective.

  • Are there domestic heat pump dehumidifiers?

  • Yeah I've been to Panama City, which was cool for us pre-kids and at that point in our travels but not what we're after.

It was prompted by looking at Caye Caulker, then wondering how expensive Costa Rica is now (too expensive) and thinking Panama could be a middle ground. Although travel to Bocas del Toro x4 seems to change the pricing quite a bit.

I can't really think of anywhere else that offers the same things. Plus the volume of flights/routes to Panama City helps.
