Big fan of the Tara, but how come the arch sits so high above the tire? More used to using/seeing it like this.
Had a decent play with the Tara and two things:
This is the Big Apple which is both 10mm wider and 10mm longer.. should I decide to run 2.4" tyres (will I ever?!).Fairlight have stuck the rack mount at the front of the fork. It'd look better on the rear mount but that's being used by the guards and isn't as burly.
It'll look a little better with 35-40c tyres.

Electrically minded people and or dynamo users...
If I wanted to control a Strada on the rack with the smart port cable, how would you go about extending? Splice in a cable, using crimp connectors and shrink wrap?
Am I missing something about making it longer and it still working?

Oh well, if it's mounted properly, that's all that matters. More room to grab hold of it!

I'll start a nerdy thread or send you a message after the weekend, had some design revision ideas.. it's been tested with the Strada now and was solid.

Is there a shit mountain bikers say thread? ctrl+c ctrl+v
The Holt makes sense now.. the SID, Mezcals, Arkane wheels, even the Tailfin panniers.
Joined pannier.cc on a supported Kyrgyzstan trip. Had been thinking about this for a few years. Having known the trip lead and listened to their SRMR stories, the hike-a-bike tails were enough to steer me toward doing something out there but a bit more chill that my partner could join.
Kyrgyzstan is fantastic, Bishkek is chill, the mountains, altitude, the people, all great and breathtaking.
But it was Tosor pass that really nailed the love for this build. Peaking at 3,900 meters and then descending toward lake Issyk-Kul, it's a rocky and muddy access road that runs for 37km and drops 2.4km in altitude (which coming from the UK is mental!), full rip all the way, didn't know a hardtail could be pushed that fast and easily the best off-roading I've ever done.
Also supported by Nelson Trees (SRMR organiser), the trip has reignited an itch to enter the Atlas Mountain Race next year.

Some bike nerdery arrived. Being such an influencer, couldn't say no to the engraving offer.
Chonkier than expected but might play nice with some big lights...
