I've got one of the recent drop stay versions and I use it as a hack bike for rainy days/light touring etc, puely functional. I love mine, it looks good and rides really well.
There is no problem with comfort as I reshod mine with 28cs. A total bargain for the price but then again, I'm not using the latest Carbon disc wheelset, just traditional rim brakes.
So took the caad optimo out for its first proper ride tonight and have to say I really like it. It’s seems to be one of the last ones made before the dropped seat stay model that’s currently in the range. I have had a few ‘dales in the past but have to admit whilst I knew of the synapse caad 12 , 13 and the system sixes I didn’t know this model existed and it doesn’t seem to have been mentioned at all on here. So what’s it all about ? It’s racier than a synapse but where is it positioned and why doesn’t it get any love? I’ve junked the stock wheelset and changed contact points and now feels a lot lighter. Does anyone else have one ?
