Don't think i've seen one before, but saw a white wagtail in the park yesterday. Seen loads of pied wagtails, but never a white one (they're not actually white).

Just seen a hobby flying around, at least I’m reasonably certain it’s a hobby as it wasn’t hovering and appears to fit the description.
Have not knowingly seen one before. It’s also been spotted by the local birder/photographer I follow on twitter who has just witnessed the return of the little owl to CP park after it’s tree was cut down a few weeks ago.

Another swallows nest, on the ceiling of the undercroft of the building - what an amazing structure!

Evidently there is a little egret in the local park. (Crystal Palace)
While not on the red list there are less than 1000 resident breeding pairs.Have seen one on the south coast before so not going to go hunting for this one but good to hear of of it’s visit.

I’m noticing loads of house Martins about at the moment, having not seen them in any numbers for decades. Really loving seeing them.

Seen so many rooks here, a buzzard, loads of housemartins around the Garlic Farm and a lapwing also.

Currently riding the train around France and Spain and really jarring hearing how loud the swifts and house martins are in city centres compared to what is common at home

The coal tits in the back garden have been caching sunflower seeds and now I have a hundred sunflowers growing in the most unexpected places. Silly birds.

Wonder why they are called coal tits? Miners? 😁

I wasn’t quick enough to get a picture of the strike, just the aftermath. Pigeon 0 Red Kite*1
(Just outside our kitchen door)*possibly a bald eagle 🦅
But more likely a Peregrine Falcon, not to be confused with the Millennium Falcon obviously.

I thought they were carrion only and didn’t hunt their prey?
-
• #2897
I assumed it was a kite as they have been around all day, but we do get buzzards, Peregrine falcons and I’m pretty sure I saw a bald eagle once :D
One second there was a pigeon the next a cloud of feathers and nothing else. -

Peregrine.

Are birds getting louder due to Human noise pollution?
I can't believe the clarity of the dawn chorus that goes through my double glazing some mornings.
Also, the local murder of crows are almost becoming phonetic in their dialect.
So loud! 🙃
Sparrows were at it again earlier, they're nesting nearby too I think.
