my basin is leaking here but I can't figure out how to remove the waste to repair or replace. the bottom half of the waste (circled in green) seems to thread into the top half that the plug fits into but when I turn the bottom half, the top half turns too.
looking online, most wastes have something you can jam a screwdriver into stop it turning but mine has nothing apart from a couple inset rubber bits.
anyone know how to do it? (sorry if this isn't the DIY thread, I couldn't find one)
You should urgently replace that braided hose too. When the rust finally gives way the whole thing will leak and probably do thousands of pounds of damage if you are away or out for any significant period.
Oh, thanks for spotting that. i will get it replaced.
I have given up on DIYing the waste myself and have asked someone to come round and fix it for me tomorrow. @ andos & skinny: i couldn't find a screw inside the waste
